On Sunday, April 23, the religious communities and the pilgrims of the Holy Land celebrated the Feast of Divine Mercy in the Basilica of Gethsemane in Jerusalem.
Honoring the visions of Sr. Faustina Kowalska, the Polish nun canonized by Pope Wojtyla in 2000, the Feast of the Divine Mercy was officially established in the Church by St. John Paul II in 1992, to be celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter, the so-called “Sunday in albis”.
