A festive crowd welcomed the Apostolic Administrator of the Latin Patriarchate Pierbattista Pizzaballa.
On Wednesday September 21, he made his solemn entry into the city.

Monsignor Pierbattista Pizzaballa was welcomed on Wednesday September 21on his official entry into Jerusalem as Apostolic Administrator of the Latin Patriarchate.
As per ritual, the new Archbishop, ordained in Bergamo, Italy, on September 10, made his entrance through the Jaffa Gate, in the presence of the civil and religious authorities, including Cardinal O’Brien, the bishops of the Patriarchate, the Apostolic Nuncio Giuseppe Lazzarotto, the Patriarch Emeritus Michel Sabbah and the Custos of the Holy Land Francesco Patton. With them, hundreds of priests, seminarians and religious, as well as many loyal, local and foreign.
At the sound of the notes of the hymn ‘Lauda Jerusalem Dominum’, the crowd went in procession to the church of the Latin Patriarchate, for the recitation of Vespers and to express their closeness and discipleship to the new pastor of the city.
