Holy Hour from the Garden of Gethsemane

On the night of Holy Thursday, from Gethsemane to Gallicantu in the footsteps of Jesus, the Christians of the Holy Land and pilgrims pray in communion with the agony of Christ. The Custos presides over a “Holy Hour”: a celebration that, through the Gospel, psalms and hymns, retraces the last night of Jesus’ life. A simple but intense moment, like that evening was. A prayer in many languages, as there are many languages and countries where the Holy Hour is broadcast live, and where it is followed by more than a million viewers via TV stations in the Middle East, Europe and the Americas. Those who are here in Gethsemane, inside or outside of the church, bring their own intentions to the place of Jesus’ Agony.
